Happy Thanksgiving!

This year I am so very thankful, truly blessed and daily strive for an attitude of gratefulness.

At church a few weeks ago the pastor started out saying that gratefulness leads to grace.  It started me thinking and pondering on the old thought that it all starts with the heart.  I used to roll my eyes at that phrase.  What absolutely crockery I used to think.  However it really and truly does start with the heart.  When your heart is filled with gratitude it cannot help but offer grace to those around you.  It knows no other way.
So this Thanksgiving I am praying that we all have a heart that is so full of gratitude grace abounds and overflows.  If we all extend grace towards each other, well, just sit a few minutes and picture that.  I dare you not to have a smile on your face when you do!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Here are the four we made.  I am hoping to get some videos up on how I made each one over the next week so stay tuned!

Joyful Infinity Card!

I had a lot of fun putting this card together.  It is quite addictive once you put it together!  This is a 5X5 card and will fit into a larger envelope.

Ingredients for this card:

Whisper White Cardstock
Tip Top Taupe Cardstock
Tip Top Taupe Stampin’ Pad
Cherry Cobler Stampin’ Pad
A littl Something Clear-Mount Bundle
Joyful Season Photopolymer Stamp Set
Stampin Write Markers (2014-15 Colors)
I Think You’re Great Clear Mount Stamp Set
Versa Mark Ink Pad

**You will also need a paper trimmer and score board for this project.

2 5x5 squares one of white and another of tip top taupe
1 large sqaure die cut from the pillow box die cut in tip top taupe and another smaller square cut in the whisper white.
Spare piece of white card stock to stamp the cardinal.
Stamp the background onto the center of the taupe square using your versamark ink pad.

Cut the square in half creating two pieces of paper each 2 ½ x 5”
Using the white square stamp the branches using tip top taupe ink three times around square with the “berries” facing the inside of the card.
Using the tangelo twist and hello honey markers color in the berries.
Cut the white square in half creating two pieces 2 ½ x5”.  Dry Fit the sentiment so that you make the cut in the correct place.
Using the spare piece of white paper stamp the inside of the bird using cherry cobbler.  Using tip top taupe stamp the outline of the bird.  The hello honey marker can be used to color in his beack.  Cut the cardinal out.
Stamp the “thinking of you “ using the tip top taupe stamp pad onto the white square that was cut out.  Adhere this to the square tip top taupe and place onto the center of one of the white stamped pieces that measures 2 ½ x 5”.
Make your score lines:
Score each piece of paper 1.25” from edge short edge, there will be two score lines on each 2 ½ x 5” piece of paper.

Halloween Slider Card

This is not a beginner card more an intermediate card.  It is however very fun to do and with practice it will become easier.  I have broken the videos up to make it a bit easier to complete the card.
Hope you will try it and have fun with it.  I have a fun idea for a holiday one so be on the lookout for that one in the next month (or two).

The Witch is finally in!

It took me a little while to pull this together as my back decided to go out of wack.  Seriously, I feel like a witch myself as I am walking hunched over with a limp and generally feel like I'm crooked.  And not in a good way!

Witch Hat treat Box

I was in such a Halloween mood that when I sent out a reminder for my club meeting I had the October host listed!  Thanks to the club members who quickly straightened me out!  We created three Halloween inspired items at our meeting this month.  Plenty of time for you to get started and have everything made well ahead of when the ghosts come calling!

I adapted the cutie pie thinlit for the bigshot into a cute witch's hat treat box.  Below you will find the list of items we used to create this and a link to the video.  Also below you will find the template for the witch hat.  You will want to print this out before starting.

Witch’s Hat Treat Box

Black Card Stock (12x12)
Into the Woods Cardstock packet
Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper
A Little Something Just Bundle (Includes Stamp Set)
Whisper White Craft Stampin Pad
Tear & Tape
Fine Tip Glue Pen

  1. Using black card stock and cutie pie thinlit die cut two to form triangular shaped box.  Please tear tape or your choice of adhesive along flat edges of box and put together. Set aside.
  2. Using scissors cut out of black card stock a witches hat out of black card stock.  If you copy and past the witch hat template make sure the image size is set to 4.5" tall and 4.11 inches wide.  This will ensure that your hat is the correct dimensions.
  3. From the “A Little Something” die set select the smallest square and cut this out of the old olive from the into the woods paper packet.
  4. The “a little something” stamp and the whisper white ink pad stamp the old olive square previously cut out.
  5. Cut a strip of paper from the Designer Series Paper ½ “ wide by 5”.  Glue to brim/bottom of witch’s hat.  Trim with scissors.
  6.  From the Cutie pie set  and a piece of the razzleberry paper (cut in half) run through the big shot once with the “ric-rac” die.  Reverse the die and cut once more to create a full piece of “ric-rac”.
  7.  Using fine tip glue pen adhere the piece of razzleberry trim onto the hat, trim with scissors.
  8. Glue the “a little something . .” square to the hat.  Adhere the hat to the top of the triangle/cake box.

You will want to copy and paste this into a word document or photo editing software.  Once done make sure the height is set to 4.5" and the width to 4.11"
