In Transition . . .

to . . .

I've been having issues with updating my blog due to some technical issues.  So due to this, I'm transitioning to Facebook.  I know not everyone is on "the book" so I'm working on launching a website as well.
I'm on Facebook as My Red Truck Designs and up date this several times a day.  In addition I'm working on a newsletter so you can see where my truck is traveling to, what crafty goodness I'm up to and what adventures I've gotten myself into!

Check back as obviously I have a lot in the works!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Stampin' Up has launched their Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs!  Which means for every $50 you spend you get a free product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  These items are only around until March and then they are gone.  It's a great time to stock up on paper and other supplies and get access to free products.  Contact me to learn more!

In addition I'm launching a #Snail Mail campaign for 2017!  Stay tuned for something new each month.  As with the rest of the world, January is a great time to restart.  I'm hoping to get back to hand written correspondence.  I know personally I get great joy out of getting a card in the mail!

For the 12 Days of Christmas!!!

For the 12 days of Christmas

My Red truck gave to me . . . . .a great way to get something free!

I love getting mail which is part of the reason I make cards, so others can have fun getting that something extra special in the mail too!

So in the spirit of the holidays (and yes to promote my card-making hobby/business), I'm giving away cards for 12 days (starting December 8th - December 20th 2016).

Here is how it works:
Follow my blog!  (Look to the right below my "About Me" section.)
Once done send me an email at myredtrucktn@gmail.com
Please put free cards in the subject line.
Make sure you include your mailing address (this won't be shared).

I will send you a card that you can either keep or send to someone special.  An envelope will be included.  It's my pick however if you're looking for something specific please let me know and I will try to make it fit the occasion.
Okay  . . .I know you are thinking nothing is free right?  Well the only condition is to keep the business card that is attached to the back of the card.

Wait I would like more than one free card please!!
To get a second card you can go to my Facebook page.  If the link doesn't work you can try searching MyRedTruckDesigns on Facebook..  Like my page and post in the comments section under the 12 days give away post.  I'll send you a second one.
Sorry but two freebies is all I can do.

Let's keep the joy of snail mail going!

Shake Shake Shake!

Love Shaker Cards!

I've been wanting to try a shaker card with the Jar of Cheer set. As predicted it is one of my favorite sets!  It coordinates with the Jar of Love bundle.
At the last card club meeting we made a fun shaker tag.  But this could easily be converted to a card.

The assemble is a bit tricky but well worth it!  I've broken down the steps here for you.

Assembly

Stamp two complete jars (the body + lid)

Cut out using big shot: One jar with inside cut out and one jar just the outside cut.

Reserve the blank inside of the jar - this will become the sentiment tag.

Stamp the tree on the inside of the jar (this is the back) and Merry on the extra piece that was the inside of the card.

Glue clear window sheet onto wrong side of jar.
Build up the sides of the jar with foam strips. You will want to use as little strips as possible.  I started with a strip for the top and the bottom them filled in my sides.

Pour your "snow" into the area built up. Then remove the backing on the foam strips.  It's important not expose the adhesive on the strips before pouring in your snow as it will stick to the strips and you want get a good seal.

**Note: It's easy to want to really fill your area with glitter however you need to provide room for the glitter to move.  Resist the urge to over fill!

Club Cards

Oh What fun . . .

we had at our Thursday evening club card meeting!  We experimented with One Sheet Wonder Cards.  For those that took advantage of the paper offer in October this would be a great solution to maximize your use of a single sheet of Designer Series Paper.  I plan on doing a video however in the meantime I'll post separately on how I cut up the 12 x 12 sheet and the 6 cards I created from it.

I copied the Christmas card (thanks again Pinterest) and the fall card was October's Paper Pumpkin.  It's a shaker card and we had a lot of fun making these!

Stay tuned for my next post on the 6 OSW (one sheet wonder) from the DSP (designer series paper)!

Are you ready for Halloween!

I just can't think of any occasion the jar set can't cover!  The jar of haunts set is just too sweet not to creat some cards from!  I used some extra thick clear embossing powder to give it a real glass look!

Calling All Paper Fanatics!

Great Offer from Stampin' Up to stock up!

Just like in my wardrobe when I create cards I tend to not use patterns!  However I may be doing more pattern mixing in the future as this is a deal most won't be able to pass up!

Another one...

You may eventually tire of these posts however I will not tire creating the cards from Thoughful Branches.
We've had a slight hint that fall will in fact eventually arrive. It's gotten my into making ginger cookies (my favorite tried and true recipe) and making fall inspired cards.

Thoughtful Branches....sorry you couldn't stick around!

Stampin Up released a limited stamp and big shot thinlit called thoughtful branches. I fell in love!  This is just one of the examples, (thank you Pinterest for the idea).  I'll take pictures of the others I've done!

A venture away from cards!

So I know mostly (like 99%) of my posts are regarding card and paper crafting. I do however venture outside the realm of paper!  I love making costumes for my kids. In the past it's been Cinderella, Ariel etc....then it was Wall-E and Thomas the train. As my son has gotten older we have ventured to transformers and video game characters. Not exactly my niche.

However knowing my costume making for the kids are numbered I gave forayed outside my comfort zone into the world of cosplay!  Enter into the world of EVA foam. Oh it's been fun. Here are the chest and back plates for my son's destiny inspired armor.

I'm currently working on the shin guards and knee pads. Will post more soon. Who knew I'd be using my heat gun for something other than embossing on paper!

Here are two I put together. Will be posting more to my Pinterest and Facebook pages as well as here so check back!

A little Christmas in August!

It was hard not to go crazy with the holiday cards. This year Stampin Up's paper is just so great!  They have everything from whimsical to traditional holiday patterns.

Here are the cards we made at our Christmas in August card club!

The tag was created using the everyday jars die with the big shot and the jar of cheer stamp set. I also pulled in some ultra thick embossing powder to make the jar really look like glass.

Playing around with shaker cards!

I love this snowman in the Jar of Cheer stamp set (142161 available September 1). Wanted to make it snow for him in a fun shaker card.

This is totally awesome!!!

Paper Pumpkin kits from Stampin' Up are great for many reasons.  My two favorite are 1) its a craft to go in a box.  You can literally take that box (and maybe a pair of scissors) and craft anywhere as it has everything you need. 2) Its perfect for the never stamped before to the seasoned stamper.  You can create it as is or enter the world of pinterest (hint set a timer) and gather up so great ideas to alter it.

Any way you look at it this deal is GREAT! It's a purchase one month and you get the second free.  How awesome is that?!?! Basically you are spending $10 per box.

Let me know if I can help get you signed up!
